This month, we'll feature our pal, dear brother, mentor, and ALL-WORLD musician;

Tony Axtell

Tony Axtell, a native Minnesotan, graduated from the Musician's Institute of Technology in Los Angeles, CA with a degree in bass studies. An accomplished bassist, keyboardist, vocalist, drummer, as well as composer, arranger, engineer and producer, Tony's skills can be heard on many genres of music he's had the fortune of being involved in over the past 30 years. Tony's live musical performing over the decades includes touring with many groups in jazz, pop, R&B as well as a handful of other styles and genres. This includes playing with some of the biggest-name musicians, the world has to offer, including Donny Osmond, David Sanborn, Ricky Peterson, Garrison Keillor, Mark Murphy Captain Jack McDuff, LP Music, and the one-and-only Dr. Prince Rogers Nelson: TKO (The KAJ Orchestra); a 17 piece house band at Prince’s Glam Slam in mid 90’s, where Prince himself sat in with the band weekly. 

More currently and locally, Tony enjoys teaming up with his own Trio, Quartet and larger ensembles for club dates, recording dates and also the many special events each year brings.
